Be Aware of Contact Lenses

Posted by Sobia Junaid on Sunday, September 13, 2009

A 21 year old guy used to wear a pair of contact lenses. While barbecuing, he stared at the fire charcoals continuously for 2-3 minutes. After a few minutes, he started to scream for help and moved rapidly, jumping up and down. No one in the party knew why he was doing this? Then he was admitted into the Hospital, the doctor said he’ll be blind permanently because of the contact lenses that he had worn.
Contact lenses are made by plastics, and the heat from the charcoal melted his contact lenses.
Dear All Kindly pass on this information to many people as much as you can so that people may learn a lesson from it.
DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES WHERE OVERHEATING AND FLAMES ARE CONCERNED…..OR WHILE COOKING…

Tips About Perfume

Posted by Sobia Junaid

With time, perfume which was once the elite luxury item of the rich has become a part and parcel of every dressing table.
Various brands and labels have come up and today we can well say that a lady is known by the perfume she wears. A Perfume is a blend of some fragrant essential oils with aroma compounds, certain fixatives and a solvent and is used to give a pleasing smell.
There are various sources of making perfumes. The most widely used sources are plants. They are used to derive aromatic compounds and oils. The sources of these compounds may be derived from various parts of a plant. The most commonly used barks are cascarilla and cinnamon. The biggest source of aromatics of a plant are its flowers like the commonly used rose and jasmine,as well as mimosa, osmanthus, tuberose, and certain blossoms like those of citrus trees.
Certain fruits like juniper berry and the much-loved vanilla are also employed to give expensive perfumes. Other sources include leaves like lavender, patchouli, violets and rosemary. Apart from this, the animal sources include Ambergris, Honeycomb and musk. Most of the modern perfumes employ synthetic means to produce various combinations of smells. Synthetic smells are usually synthesized from pine resins, petroleum distillates etc.
There are some really interesting facts about the perfume. Women are supposed to have sharper sense of smell than men and it is greatly affected by our lifestyle, our diet and medications. Believe it or not but perfumes can ctually produce different reactions from blondes, redheads and brunettes.
Perfume vapors tend to rise upwards and when you wear your favorite perfume near your face or behind your ears, then it is sure to rise and disappear before you reach the office or meet your partner. It is believed that oily skin type can retain a perfume smell better.
While trying out new perfumes, do not try out more than three smells at a time as your nose will no longer be able to distinguish between different aromas if you try too much. Wait for at least ten minutes after you test the perfume, to get the accurate smell after its reaction with your skin.
If you have invested in a branded or expensive perfume then obviously you want to make the most out of it. Here are some tips to maintain your perfume and make it last long.

Preserve your perfumes properly by keeping it away from heat and by storing them in a cool and shaded place where they are not exposed to light. An opened bottle of perfume can keep its smell as it is for nearly a year but only if it is nearly full, as the occurrence of oxygen in the emptying bottle’s air will react with the perfume elements and try to change its character.
Perfumes should ideally be used all through the day. Even those perfumes that are concentrated will not last you for the whole day. You have to apply and e-apply your perfume after every three to four hours. Nowadays you get a wide variety of perfumes and are almost spoilt for choices. It is recommended to use different perfumes for the morning and night. Generally you should choose a light floral smell for the day and something heavy and dramatic for evenings. You can also choose a perfume depending upon your mood.

Choosing Right Jewelry

Posted by Sobia Junaid

Jewelry like clothes can make or mar your appearance. It is no use having a smart well-cut choli and a beautiful saree if you will ruin it with unsuitable jewelry. What makes a woman appear pleasing and draw attention to her is her good jewelry sense. A sophisticated woman would always team a white chiffon saree having jet black print on it with either light diamond or pearl jewelry in this attire. This is to tell you that every attire requires different type of jewelry. In this way, every season, every mood and different
occasions require different types of jewelry.
In summer to feel cool and garden-fresh, you should wear light clothes in softest of shades. Soft shades should be offset with either silver, pearl or diamond jewelry. But avoid wearing too many jewels as these will make you feel hot and uncomfortable. Wear the barest amount and look cool and graceful.
Monsoon requires vivid vibrant colors glowing turquoise, rich green, deep orange to beat the grey rainy days. And with vibrant colors you require vibrant jewelry made of gold, precious stones and mina work, anything which puts a glow in your complexion should be worn during this season. And winter is the season when you can wear everything and anything and look bewitching.
Like different seasons, the different occasions require different makeup tips and jewelry. You should choose the jewelry you wear during different occasions very carefully, because badly chosen jewelry can ruin you whole personality.
For morning outings wear a simple strand of pearls, delicate mangulsutra or a simple gold chain. Ear tops or other delicate ear-rings with one or two gold bangles on the arms will look pretty.
For afternoon lunches and parties you can go in for a little more elaborate jewelry and this means delicate sets of diamond, mina or precious tones. At night, you jewelry can be mire elaborate but very heavy jewelry with elaborate diamond mina and precious stones should be worn on very dressy occasions only.
Different colors of dresses also require different colored jewelry. All the women should have two basic shades of jewelry in an excellent combination with cream, yellow, red, most greens, violet and various shades of brown. Silver looks excellent with peach, white, pale pink, blue almond green and every delicate shade. Besides these two basic types of jewelry which every woman can afford, there are the exclusive diamonds, pearls, jadau and mina jewelry. It you can afford blue mina jewelry, a pink saree would look beautiful with blue mina jewelry and a cream or black outfit would look stunning in a diamond set. If you can, buy varied type of jewelry, add to it jewelry by wearing it by rotation. In this way you will be the envy of all the women and remember jewelry is not only a great asset which adds to you appearance but is also an extremely sound investment

Don’ts of Beauty Care

Posted by Sobia Junaid

There are certain things which all men and women should take care of to maintain their beauty forever.
- Never sleep with make up on is a priority beauty care tip. Always clean your face with damp cotton wool and cleansing milk before going to bed.
- Don’t retouch an old lipstick, clean the lips and put on a completely new coat. This will look fresher and keep it original color better.
- Don’t wear scarlet lipstick if you are very pale it will make you look even paler. If you must wear this color, then add a little more color to your sin with a shade darker foundation and add a little more color to your cheeks. This goes a long way in your personal beauty care.
- Don’t wear a beige lipstick if you have mousy hair and beige skin-your lips will blend into your complexion and won’t be noticeable.
- Don’t’ wear pale lipstick if you have a problem skin, the blemishes will show up darker than your lips.  Also, if pale lipstick is worn over discolored teeth, the teeth will look dirtier and yellowier.
- Don’t eat too many chocolates, a widely disregarded beauty care tip. The cocoa flavoring stimulates oil glands to become active and the high fat and sugar content encourages spots. Try eating apples instead.
- Don’t eat more than two oranges a day; their high acid content can cause a red rash.
The same applies to grape fruits and strawberries.  Eat them by all means but don’t overeat them.
- Don’t fall for fizzy drinks in hot weather.  They don’t quench thirst as well as cold water, fruit juice or tea and they are laden with sugar.  Cola, like chocolate contains cocoa extract and therefore stimulates oil glands to over activity, follow this beauty care tip for a healthy and beautiful living.
- Avoid taking more than two cups of coffee or tea during a day. Instead, learn to take fruit juice, lassi, carrot or cucumber juice.
- Don’t be a grease spot.  Your skin will absorb the nourishment it needs within 20 minutes, so wipe off the excess cream and then sleep happily.
- Don’t use the bar of soap which you use for your body on your hair.  The bar of
soap which you use for your body on your hair.  The bar of soap is very damaging to the hair because it leaves an insoluble alkaline film on the scalp even after the hair has been thoroughly rinsed. This deposit can clog the hair and oil openings in your scalp and its drying qualities may give rise to ugly dandruff.  In addition, the alkaline quality of soap removes the natural acid mantle of the healthy scalp and invites bacterial invasion of the areas,
therefore, it is always wise either to wash with home-made shikakai (natural beauty care) or to invest in a good shampoo.
- Don’t ever use any of the “Medicated dandruff Shampoos” so widely advertised. Medicated shampoos don’t clear the dandruff but make it return with a vengeance.  They give only temporary relief and can do a staggering amount of scalp and hair damage.
- Don’t use marketed hair oils on your hair.  They contain white oil which gives rise to premature grey heads.  For the same reason, don’t use hair dyes, they not only contain harmful chemicals which cause harm to the scalp and to the skin, but if once discontinued will give you a full head of grey hair.

How Should We Dress?

Posted by Sobia Junaid

It depends on what type of figure we actually have, and there are basically six types of figures.
The Skinny Type
The skinny type is, well, skinny. Skinny women are those whose bodies are thin, angular, and yes, with very little fat in them. What skinny women would want is to create the illusion of curves, and this illusion of curves is achieved by creating bulk through layering clothes ? vests over tops or dresses over trousers. Aside from layering, wearing clothes with extra details like ruffles, pleats and gathers also add bulk to the body and make it seem curvier.
The Top Heavy Type
Top-heavy women are women who have bulkier upper bodies and busts that are bigger than their hips. What they would want is to create a balance by playing down the upper body. This can be done by wearing dark tops, or tops that have monochromatic prints, and then pairing them with light-colored pants or skirts. Wearing necklines that give the illusion of length, such as V-necks, will also help tone down the bulky torso.
The Bottom Heavy Type
Bottom-heavy women are those who have hips that are bigger than their upper bodies. Women with these body types ought to draw the attention away from their hips by wearing light-colored tops that enhance the cleavage and pairing them with sober, dark-colored skirts or pants. The eyes can be further drawn to the torso through the use of chunky necklaces, dangling earrings or long chains around the neck.
The Long and Lanky Type
Women with long and lanky bodies have more flesh than the skinny ones; they are also generally taller. But they have the same concern: how to create the curves that they do not have. The layered look also works for women with this body type. Wide skirts or pants with wide legs in light colors will also work, but never pair them with tops with a low cut.
The Petite Type
Petite women are those whose bodies are short, lean and thin, but straight. They are small-breasted and do not have waists. These women would need to create the illusion of a waist by wearing a bold belt that greatly contrasts with their tops or their dresses, or full skirts.
The Curvy Type
Women who have curves should feel good no matter what the sizes of those curves are. Curves are beautiful, and they should be enhanced by clothes that skim the body, like wraparound dresses or blouses, or clothes with fabrics that drape the body. Baggy clothes should be avoided because they only add unwanted bulk.

What You Need:
. Gentle cleanser
. Exfoliating scrub
. Warm water & a washcloth
. Clay-based or cream facial mask (based on skin type)
. Basic moisturizer
Cleanse the skin
You’ll want to wash the face to remove any grime or dirt. If you have oily or combination skin, try a cleanser like Clinique Wash Away Gel Cleanser or Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash . For dry skin, your best bet is a cream or milky cleanser such as Cetaphil .
Exfoliate
Using your fingers, rub a gentle exfoliating scrub in a circular motion on your face. Concentrate on the areas around your nose and forehead or if you have combo skin, work harder on the areas that tend to be ‘greasy.’ Rinse your face well since exfoliating scrubs tend to be drying. Clinique makes a simple, but excellent face scrub.
Steam
Fill your sink with warm water, dip a washcloth in and press to your face. Repeat 2-3 times.
The mask
For oily skin, use a clay-based face mask. For dry skin, go for a hydrating gel or cream mask.
Apply the mask, avoiding the areas around the eyes. Keep it on for 10-20 minutes (or, according to the directions on the product). Rinse completely.

Makeup Tip 1) Sweep a little loose powder under your eyes when applying dark shades of eye shadow to catch any falling specks and prevent them from staining your skin. Makeup Tip 2) Make your lips look larger by wearing a bright, light lipstick. Or make the appear small by wearing dark and more muted colours.
Makeup Tip 3) If you do not have a specialized contouring product for cheeks, simply use an ordinary face powder a couple of shades darker than your usual one to slim down the cheeks.
Makeup Tip 4)Add a drop of witch hazel available in all good pharmacies to turn ordinary foundation into a medicated one, it will work wonders on oily skin which is prone to acne and pimples.
Makeup Tip 5)Mascara your lashes before applying false ones to help them stick properly.
